About the UPDAA
The University of the Philippines Dental Alumni Association, Inc was formed to unite the graduates of the University of the Philippines College of Dentistry in a bond of friendship, good fellowship, mutual assistance and understanding.
It was established to promote consultation and cooperation with the University of the Philippines in general and in the College of Dentistry in particular.
The association endeavours to provide continuing education programs for its members to maintain their competency aimed at delivering the highest quality of dental service.
Moreover, it aims to develop social sensitivity and community leadership among its members; and help uplift the dental profession in the Philippines by encouraging its members to participate actively in organized dentistry here and abroad.
The UPDAA was created in 1940, with Dr. Josefina Recto- Ramirez of Class of 1952 as the first president of the Association. The president and the Board of Trustees were historically inducted and presented during the Foundation week celebrations to commemorate the Founding Anniversary of UPCD on February 8, 1915. Their term was for one year. However, It was year 1970 when it was officially decided that the president and his board serve for 2 years.
